Qing Miao ( 苗青) , known as Kat was born in Shanghai, China. Raised up by her grandparents, Kat was encouraged to draw and paint. She fell in love with visual art at the age of 6. Her talent was noticed by an art teacher in her junior high school. Later on , she received her training from the high school for art in Shanghai.

After completed her education in Shanghai International Studies University, Kat travelled to Sydney, Australia, and now relocated to San Francisco.

Kat’s style is inspired by Chinese painter Yi Fei Chen. She has predilection for bold colour. In her work, you will enter the world of romanticism and realism.
